Handicraft Group
This group has been going for 11 years and has 4 original members. We meet fortnightly with some members being the
co-ordinator for that day.
When asked to be the group leader 11 years ago I said, 'Oh I can't I am not a teacher' but was firmly told that it was not necessary in U3A, it is a sharing of knowledge that's more important. How true that has turned out to be, I have learned as much as I have taught.
Recently we were asked to take more members and although we were full we decided to split the group, meeting on the same day and in the same room, but one group does card making and the other, textiles and other crafts. Besides our accumulation of cards and gifts we have a lot of fun and it is the most caring and sharing group I have ever been part of.
